What About Hemp?
Industrial Hemp is not a good source for cannabis medicine
- Current laws legalizing hemp do not require the same rigorous lab testing that is required for cannabis, leaving the danger of unwanted chemicals, mold, etc.
- Hemp contains lower amounts of CBD, THC & other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavanoids, weakening the healing process (Entourage Effect)
- Hemp is a bio-accumulator, absorbing toxic substances from the soil, making it a great “rescue remedy” to purge environmental toxins — but do you want those toxins in your medicine?
- Hemp-based manufactured products may involve dangerous extraction processes*
* Extraction using oil thinned with propylene glycol may convert to formaldehyde, a known carcinogen when heated and inhaled. Propylene glycol can cause skin irritations; is potentially toxic to the kidneys and liver; is not safe for pregnant women or infants; can produce neurological symptoms, cardiovascular problems, and respiratory issues. Another extraction chemical, hexane, was found by the EPA to be a neurotoxin producing numbness in extremities, muscular weakness, blurred vision, headache and fatigue.
