Microcurrent Therapy

Reducing pain, restoring health — Naturally

The live body hums with microcurrents that are too low to be noticed. Different tissues have different frequencies; bones resonate at a different frequency from soft tissue. Microcurrents are a critical measurement of the flow of electrochemicals throughout our organism.

Microcurrent therapy restores the body’s circulation, energy flow, and normal tissue function. These healthy processes are blocked by conditions such as inflammation and scar tissue. Inflamed tissues are often lacking electrolytes, which makes it hard for the body to send uninterrupted signals through these tissues. Microcurrent therapy can provide electrons to these depleted tissues, which brings down the inflammation. Now the body can start to communicate again as the proper flow of energy is restored, circulation is improved, and the tissues start to normalize.

And microcurrent therapy offers other healing benefits as well. We all have an amazing powerhouse molecule in our cells called adenosine triphosphate, ATP for short. Exercise gives us back three ATP molecules for each such molecule that we use for the exercise! Here’s better news yet: Microcurrent therapy has been proven to stimulate ATP production by as much as 500%! This has a regenerative effect on the targeted tissues.

The device that we use is the very latest edition of this futuristic therapy. It has frequencies built in that mimic the body’s own, with algorithms built in that prevent habituation of the tissues; the body tends to get more sensitive to the therapy with successive sessions.

The brand is Avazzia; it is made in the USA and is approved by the FDA. It has the widest range of frequencies of any device. It uses sinusoidal waves which the body recognizes and can work with. The heartbeat is a sinusoidal wave.

This is the only microcurrent device with a biofeedback function, which enables the therapist to find the center of the most inflamed area and treat it on the spot. This is done with a metal electrode. Electronic pads may be applied to allow the current to do its work so the therapist can focus on another part of the body if needed.

The treatment is always kept at a comfortable level; the power level is set to where you barely feel it. It works even if you don’t feel it.

Part of the treatment may be done seated, part lying down on a massage table. It can be profoundly relaxing; it is not unusual for people to fall asleep for part of the treatment.  Reduced pain and better alignment are usually felt within one or two sessions.

It is recommended to start with a short series to see what this therapy can do for you. The results are cumulative and improve as the series progresses. For more information about research, visit Avazzia’s website.

Treatments take place at Dragonfly Wellness Center, where everyone is welcome! For more information about the sessions, visit therapist Inger Grape’s website, or call her at 707-357-5665.
